Our founder, John Sanei, spent much of his life afraid of dogs. Bitten as a child, he kept his distance well into adulthood, uncomfortable, avoidant, unconvinced.
In his thirties, he met Hikey. Superdawg Sanei. A thoroughbred rescue who had lived on the streets before they found each other.
John spent the final five years of Hikey's life with him, including through a difficult divorce. Hikey became more than a companion. He became grounding. Steady. Almost a caretaker.
They were inseparable. John often says: if Hikey wasn't allowed to come, he wasn't going.
That bond changed everything. If one street dog could hold a human together, humans could build a world that held dogs better, too.
ROVR House was born from that promise.
